Andrew @ 'PERP' - LIKE FIRE-BREATHING PISSED!
WHAT’S IT ABOUT?
Douglass, a nice guy who’s wrongfully convicted of a murder, and his quest to find the real killer.
It’s a fact that there are people in this world who are just way too nice. Douglass was definitely one of those people. The play started with two cops interrogating him and convincing him to take the fall for a murder. The theory they sold him was that if he was behind bars, the real killer would still be on the loose murdering people, so they would have no choice but to release Douglass later.
I don’t understand why anyone would ever buy that bullshit-ass lie, but Douglass bought it and was in the slammer! *clink clink*
After a couple of days, Douglass’ cellmate informed him that the killer had struck a few more times. Douglass was confused as to why he was still incarcerated. His cellmate let him know that sometimes cops locked up innocent men just so they could have “another notch on their belt.”
I WAS SOOOOOOO PISSED FOR DOUGLASS! LIKE FIRE-BREATHING PISSED!
This play reminded me of an episode of Our America featuring stories from criminal informants who were recruited and sent to do things for cops without any training!!! Wait, I found a clip…
Sidebar: Our America is THE BESTTTTT!!!
Anyways, back to Perp. Douglass’ cellmate helped him escape and Douglass actually found the real criminal and decided to pray with him and introduce him to a new life. A life where he didn’t have to kill people, a life full of faith, hope and God’s love.
Douglass was then exonerated and given the key to the whole city!
It was all so cute, but we all know in real life Douglass would still be sitting in that damn cell. Because it’s pretty seldom that good things happen to good people.
