Marisol @ 'The Imbible: A Spirited History of Drinking' - "Over my loneliness with MORE drinks"
What's it about?
Teaching you the history of alcoholic drinks while serving you some as well.
Let me get real with you right now: this was NOT a show like any other show I had ever been to. FIrst thing I noticed was that this wasn't on a stage but rather at a BAR. You know those like bar lounges where people wait for a show? Well it was that. The stage was the bar and the seats were the tables and booths. Weird, right?
Right off the bat I was like, "OHMGEEE I AM SUCH A LOSER!" Everyone was there with a friend or date and then there was me - all alone. Like seriously if you go to this show, invite someone! They did such a good job at making it feel like a bar that I felt lonely (The beer I was drinking probably didn't help).
But, what better way to get over my loneliness than with MORE drinks.
It was HILARIOUS! The best way to describe it is a comedy history lesson where you learn WHILE laughing? Idk, but they did show us a lot of cool facts. One especially had me shook. The main character was telling us facts and preparing for a science experiment they would show us and he emphasized how alcohol is actually poisonous to us.
AS I AM ON MY 3RD DRINK!
Whatever though! It was free and I was just enjoying the show. Which made it sad when it finally came to an end, because oddly enough I wanted to learn more...or maybe drink more..? They mentioned having more shows during Christmas so, I want to go. Definitely taking a friend though!
